Course Content Throughout the year there will be a series of lectures (6 online 1.5-hour lectures) and conversations with artists and thinkers whose work is rooted in place. We will look at how artists think, work, write, perform, and question, and how these ecological approaches shape their practice. The emphasis is on ways of working and ways of seeing that can feed directly into your own practice.

Four Individual Studio Mentoring Sessions You will receive four 1.5-hour online sessions with artist and senior lecturer Lucy Willow. These sessions are designed to integrate the content of the course into a focused discussion on the development of individual practice and how it is feeding into your work, provide critical feedback, conceptual guidance, portfolio development, or simply a space to think aloud about your work.
Two Online Group Seminars Throughout the year, the group will gather for online seminars where you share work, give and receive peer feedback, and deepen your critical thinking. These sessions build a supportive community of practice and ensure you're never working in isolation.
In-person group critique The year culminates in a group gathering at Sancreed Village Hall. We will share and reflect on how we have worked together and stuff that has emerged from our individual practice. We will think together about how we move forward and take this shared experience with us.
Online Resources You will have access to a set of online resources, including recorded lectures, reading suggestions, and prompts to support moments of uncertainty or creative block. These materials will be added to throughout the year and are intended to offering continuity, guidance, and a sense of belonging within a shared creative community.
